The Beltronics Vector V940 Radar Detector is a very advanced radar detector for sensing any police radars nearby. This cheap radar detector is a useful tool for those that are particularly concerned about getting a ticket for over speeding –we all know how expensive these can be. This detector for radars is has a lot better range than other radar detectors and covers all US Radar and Laser Bands. Features include a Safety Warning System, SuperWide Ka, full X, K, digital sign processing (DSP), detection using laser (VTO), as well as an original feature for muting the radar, AutoMute and warnings that are both visual and audible.

Radar detectors for sale are available from brands such as Escort, Whistler, Beltronics and Cobra. Of all the ones I’ve tried, this is hands down the best radar detector. Before buying the 940V, I owned 2 different brands of radar detectors: one was not very good when it came to Ka radar detection, and actually led to me getting a speeding ticket after 5 months of use. I guess the radar detector just stopped working or something, and there couldn’t have been a worse time for it to happen. I definitely didn’t have an extra $180 lying around. The other was just impossible to set, and it was inconvenient to have to keep re-setting it.

I bought the Beltronics Vector 940 during a sale (I waited for it), based on the recommendation of a friend. I’ve owned it for about 9 months. In terms of price, this radar detector is around mid-range or just slightly higher, but the fact that it detects every time was well worth the cost. At 4.8” x 2.8” x 1.2” and only 1.4 lbs, it’s portable and fits right on my windshield. The V940 lets me know each time I’m on the highway or in the city and a little less than a mile or half a mile from a department or cop car. With this, I can easily slow down and return to the speed limit in the area, or the safe range.
The Beltronics Detector Gives Me Peace Of Mind
There are times when I hear the beeping or chirping sound maybe around a third of a mile before I’m close to a department or a hidden cop shooting radar, but this is fine. Sometimes I like to use the voice alert but other times, I just switch it off. The V40 is mostly very useful for when I drive down to Dallas on weekends, or when the wife and I go on out-of-town trips, because it’s not easy to predict when there is a cop shooting radar nearby. I’ve never gotten any false alarms, and would be more than happy to recommend the Beltronics V940 to anyone looking for an affordable and efficient radar detector that does what it’s supposed to.
